Gray Smith
Tourism

Gray Smith is a Senior in Parks Recreation and Tourism Management at North Carolina State University and is scheduled to graduate in the spring of 2012. While interning at HSCSC, Gray helped launch Wolfpackopoly and helped build other street events to attract foot traffic and increase sales on Hillsborough Street. Gray is from Clayton, NC and graduated from Clayton High school in 2008. In the past, he has been a part owner of a landscaping company and also worked at Sea World in Orlando, FL...though he didn't get to swim with Shamu. In his spare time Gray enjoys playing guitar, fishing, and hanging out with his friends and family.

 

 

Katie Hilla
Events

Katie Hilla is a Senior in Business Management with a concentration in Marketing at NC State University. While interning with HSCSC, Katie has helped plan activities and programs for Orientation and Welcome Week in order to expose incoming students to Hillsborough Street. Katie also has begun planning events for Homecoming week in order to bring the masses to Hillsborough Street. Katie grew up in Wilmington NC and enjoyed every minute of it.  In her spare time she likes to travel, go to the beach, hang out with friends, and eat sushi.  At NC State she is involved in a few organizations such as First Year College Ambassadors, and a National Honor Fraternity called Phi Sigma Pi.  In her spare time she usually works at East Village Grill or goes and plays with animals at the local animal shelter.  After College she plans on furthering her degree and getting her Masters in Business.

Kamille Watson
Events

Kamille Watson was born in Philadelphia,PA and later chose to attend NC State for their excellent academic progress (and because of intern Katie Hilla). As a student of the college of Humanities and Social Sciences, Kamille chose to major in Communication with a concentration in Public Relations. She plans to pick up a minor in Parks Recreation & Tourism. As an intern for HSCSC, Kamille helped promote and manage our Summer Movie Series. She has recently been building up a series of activities for Black History Month. Kamille also works on NCSU campus as an office assistant in the Multicultural Student Affairs office and is a member of NC States Black Students Board, NCSUs chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America as their special events member. Her career goals include becoming one of the top event coordinators on the East Coast, opening a private Birth Center, and opening several luxury hotels (The Watson Hotel Chain). Kamille has many interests and hobbies including philanthropy, chillin' with friends, and volunteering with intern Katie Hilla on her various excursions in the community. Kamille hopes to graduate with honors from NC State and go on to pursue her goals in North Carolina, New York City, Philadelphia, and California.

Max Lanning
Business

Robert Maxell Lanning was born and raised in Thomasville, North Carolina where his family still resides.  He graduated from Ledford Senior High School in Thomasville and is currently an Financial Accounting Major at North Carolina State University. While interning at HSCSC, Max has worked on a range of business management and operational tasks. He helped design and promote informational fliers for the recent panhandling ordinance. He also is organizing a focus group with student government leaders in order to understand student spending habits. In previous years, Max has served as a lifeguard in his hometown as well as held an intern position with the Hillsborough Street Community Service Corporation.  He is involved with Campus Crusade for Christ at NC State and is also a Student Network Group Mentor in the Poole College of Management.  He plans to obtain his CPA after his undergraduate degree in Accounting.

Nicole Medlin
Public Relations/Communications

Nicole Medlin is a May 2011 graduate of North Carolina State University! She spent her college career being an active member of Delta Zeta Sorority, an avid football tailgater and fan, and a CHASS student. During her time with HSCSC, Nicole has helped launch our website as well as keep it updated and efficient. She also aids in communication strategies and some marketing. Growing up in Charlotte, NC, Nicole attended Myers Park High School and frequented the once-riveting Carolina Panther games. Nicole spent a lot of her time and emotion being a die hard Carolina Tarheel fan... No worries, she has now found the light and has had a change of heart (don't tell her dad!). Now, out in the real world, Nicole hopes to find a career using her Communications - Public Relations degree! A jokester, a TV junkie, and a lover of all mobster movies, Nicole is loving life as a college grad! Go Wolfpack!
