Director for the Hillsborough Street Community Service Corporation in Raleigh
The Hillsborough Street Community Service Corporation (HSCSC) seeks a Director to manage the organization and coordinate the delivery of services and implementation of HSCSC priorities.
Overview
Hillsborough Street connects popular downtown areas and serves as the gateway to NC State University. Quiet bars and coffee shops provide meeting space for campus groups and young leaders from Raleigh’s many universities, while the neighborhoods nearby are home to many leaders and active community members. Numerous parks, theatres, and restaurants draw visitors from all over the Triangle.
Radiating from the Capitol in Raleigh, Hillsborough Street has a main street character. It is being reconstructed to transform it from a high speed multi-lane thoroughfare into a cultural destination. By supporting slower traffic, more parking, and a green and pedestrian-friendly atmosphere, the Hillsborough Street Community Service Corporation hopes to strengthen the street’s appeal and reaffirm its place in Raleigh citizens’ lives.
The Hillsborough Street Community Service Corporation has five priority focus areas and will be implementing specific strategies to launch them in 2010.
