- Paid On-Street Parking (Commercial Areas)
The most heavily trafficked areas of Hillsborough Street offer paid on-street parking spaces with 2-hour time limits. Visitors can use coins or credit cards at pay stations after entering their parking spot numbers, located on the curb beside their parking spaces. - Free On-Street Parking (Neighborhoods)
Visitors can find free on-street parking spaces in less heavily trafficked areas along the street and on nearby streets. The neighborhoods surrounding the Hillsborough Street area offer parking permits to residents. - Patron Parking (Businesses)
Many businesses along the street offer free parking for their patrons. These spaces are located in front of businesses, beside them, and in front of them, so take a few moments to scout out the possibilities if you are visiting a business. Please pay close attention to which spots are reserved for which businesses, and do not stay parked in a patron parking space once you have finished your visit to the business. A vehicles parked in a patron space is subject to being towed if its driver is not visiting the respective business.
- NCSU Parking Lots
NCSU maintains many parking lots in the Hillsborough Street area on both sides of the street. These lots have differing guidelines as to which university permits are required throughout the day. Many of the lots offer FREE parking to visitors in the evening hours. Pay close attention to permit requirements and permitted visitor parking hours in these lots. - NCSU Parking Decks
NCSU maintains two parking decks on Main Campus providing paid parking for visitors. The Dan Allen Deck provides approximately 200 spaces available to visitors. The Dan Allen deck ONLY accepts credit card payment and does NOT accept cash payment. The Coliseum Deck accepts cash payment. Parking rates for both decks are as follow: $2 for the first hour, $1 for each consecutive hour, $6 daily maximum per visit. For more information, visit NCSU Transportation.
- Private Paid Parking Lots
Spaces are available for lease in the Hillsborough Street area from private companies. The contact information for these companies is located on signs posted at each lot.
