Details

Frank Thompson Hall underwent extensive renovation from 2007-2009, reopening in fall of 2009. It includes the two renovated theatres: Titmus Theatre, seating 192 and the Kennedy McIlwee Studio Theatre, seating 102. Also in the building are the theatre production shops, rehearsal hall and classrooms.

On the lower level of Frank Thompson Hall is The Crafts Center, with renovated shops and classrooms for pottery, woodworking, jewelry, photography and more.

The Thompson Hall spaces are heavily booked by the production activities of University Theatre, but are occasionally available for use by student and campus organizations for lectures, concerts, plays and other shows. Off-campus renters are welcome when space and time are available. Please read the campus user or rental user information carefully before requesting space.

More on University Theatre:

Since 1964, University Theatre has been NC State University’s volunteer student theatre. Under the direction of a full-time professional staff, we produce eight to ten shows each season: four to five main season shows, a summer TheatreFest repertory season of three plays and, when schedule permits, a diversity play and Student Studio production.
