SPRING CLEANUP — APRIL 26, 2008

There is to be a (Sixth Annual) Spring clean up of Hillsborough Street sponsored by the Hillsborough Street Partnership on Saturday morning, April 26, from 9 to 11am. We will meet in Compiegne Park (between Logan Ct. and Chamberlain, behind Brueggers’, Jimmy John’s, Dunkin Donuts and the GoPak Bazzar) at 9am and teams will be assigned a one to two block stretch of Hillsborough Street to “clean up”. We will distribute garbage bags and have some tools, however everyone is encouraged to wear garden or work gloves and clothes that can get dirty! Each team would collect debris, paper, cans, bottles, etc. to return to a central location at 11am (or earlier if they are finished). We are trying to arrange some snacks and drinks at that time. Members of the Partnership will be available to answer questions about the status of activities on the Street.

This is the morning after the end of classes at NCSU which is traditionally followed by the Hillsborough Hike up the street between the PR at Oberlin Rd. and the East Village at Dixie Trail. So there is usually some debris from that.

This is an opportunity for the Hillsborough Street community to come together to make our street a better place for all, and to promote the goals of Earth Day at the same time.
