Press Release: Chipotle opens on Hillsborough Street with Excitement from Entire Community

September 20, 2011

On September 19, 2011 Chipotle Mexican Grill opened its doors to a very eager crowd of NC State employees, as they were given an exclusive preview of the restaurant before it opened its doors to the public the following day, September 20.  Chipotle is a national chain that prides itself on serving higher quality ingredients that are naturally, sustainably raised or locally produced; or as their slogan states, they serve “food with integrity”.  Their menu includes items like burritos, tacos, bowls (a burrito without a tortilla), and salads.  Hillsborough Street is a buzz with excitement for the new addition.  Ashlee Stowe, a junior at NCSU, said “Chipotle is going to be my favorite place to eat from now on”.  Daniel Miller, a freshman, added “I’m happy to have a Chipotle on Hillsborough Street and I can’t wait to start eating there for lunch”.  The employees who were lucky enough to enjoy a preview of the restaurant agreed that Chipotle will be a good lunch spot as the food is fresh and the menu is reasonably priced.  Jeff Murison, executive director of the Hillsborough Street Community Service Corporation, is pleased with the expansion of business saying, “Having Chipotle adds diversity to our restaurant mix and placing another quality establishment on Hillsborough Street helps make it a desired destination in the Raleigh area”.  With lines out the door on opening day, it looks like Chipotle is here to stay; and it seems as though the students and citizens of the NCSU community are more than happy to welcome it with open arms.
