Red + White Week Festivities Return

What better way to celebrate NC State Homecoming than with a free block party and parade? This yearly tradition is one of the most popular on campus and for the surrounding communities near Hillsborough Street. Best of all, it’s completely free and family friendly!

There are plenty of ways to celebrate being a member of the Wolfpack on Friday, Nov. 8 - check out everything you can do on game-day eve:

SHOW YOUR SPIRIT

Head over to Sam & Bill's Hair Design from 3-5pm for temporary color streaks or fairy hair to get into the celebratory spirit.

BLOCK PARTY

The block party begins at 4:30pm at Nelson Hall’s Side Courtyard and will feature free refreshments and good company with NC State alumni, their families, faculty, students, staff and friends!  Not to mention, Live It Up! Hillsborough will be at the block party with some FREE giveaways!

You can find even more details here.

HOMECOMING PARADE

The parade itself begins at 6pm and go until roughly 7pm, with a wide variety of floats from student groups, campus organizations, and sponsors (including us!). The parade starts at the Ferndell parking lot near the Pullen roundabout, heading up Hillsborough Street before turning down Dan Allen Drive on to campus.

Worried about the weather and lack of light? Extra street lighting will be in place to help illuminate the parade and you can always spend time with our merchants before and after the parade passes you. Grab dinner or a warm drink and settle in to celebrate the Wolfpack!

LIVE MUSIC

Once the parade passes by, head down to Aloft Raleigh for the Live at Aloft Hotels Homecoming Tour with NC State Alum Shane David Smith! The live music starts at ~7:30pm, and they'll have $4 Old Tuffy & $5 Pack Mules available.

LOCAL BUSINESSES

Check out some of our local businesses on Hillsborough Street for some quick shopping or a bite to eat. During Red + White Week, some of NC State’s student organizations take the time to paint the windows of our local businesses, so try to find them all! Not hungry? Warm up with a hot cup of coffee at one of the coffee shops on Hillsborough Street!
