Tuesday, July 16

Get ready for a week full of summer fun on Hillsborough Street! If you haven’t caught a round of the 2019 North Carolina’s Funniest Person competition yet, now is the time. The competition gets more intense this week as the Semi-Final Round continues Tuesday night at Goodnight’s Comedy Club. Join in on the fun and help decide who will go on to battle it out for the $1,200 prize.

Ricky Stein, the accomplished Americana-Rock singer/ songwriter from New York, NY travels to Raleigh this week to perform live at the Irregardless Café! Make reservations to enjoy a farm-to-table meal and an evening of outstanding live music.

This summer join The Green Monkey for Hell Yeah I have Bingo! every Tuesday night at 7:30 & head over to Redline Beer & Wine for Trivia Tuesday’s at 9pm all summer long.

Wednesday, July 17

Get your tickets, seriously the link is at the bottom of the page, You don’t want to miss your chance to see the 2019 North Carolina’s Funniest Person Competition at Goodnights Comedy Club. Competitors who have made it to the semi-final round pull out all the stops to win this year's title!

The Secrets of Stone, our favorite Gregg Museum of Art and Design exhibit is back for the month of July! Reserve a spot for the 1pm guided tour this Wednesday and learn about the secret compartments and complex features incorporated into Tilden Stone’s furniture masterpieces in his “Southern Surreal” exhibit.

Get out of the heat this Wednesday night and enjoy the weekly Ridiculously Low-Priced Beer special all day at The Green Monkey or get your team together for pizza, liquor specials & Trivia Night at Brickhouse Sports Bar & Grill. Thursday, July 18

Image result for antigone raleigh little theatre Our favorite event of the summer continues this Thursday night as Raleigh Little Theatre presents its free outdoor summer movie series, Movies in The Garden. With food trucks from Las Gringas, Fresh Outta Brooklyn, Jays Italian Ice & beverages from Raleigh Brewing Company and a pre-show lip sync battle, this is a guaranteed night of fun for all ages! Come out early and enjoy the pre-show activities before the Blockbuster hit Bohemian Rhapsody begins at 8:30pm! A night of free summer fun to enjoy with friends and the entire family.

JC Raulston Arboretum hosts a Photography Walk at 10am Thursday morning! Outdoor and garden photography can be tricky, but this guided tour & information session will teach you how to take professional quality pictures. With tips on lenses, lighting and so much more, Mary Louise Ravese is an experienced photography instructor and enjoys teaching a wide range of topics related to travel, nature and creative photography. Improve your skills or come as a beginner, you can register for this event online.

Headlining at Goodnights Comedy Club this weekend is Youtuber and comedian JP Sears. Sears has made a name for himself making fun of hippie culture and comical new age lifestyle topics. Check out his YouTube channel AwakenWithJP and grab tickets to one of his shows this weekend!

ComedyWorx hosts our favorite hilarious improv show this Thursday night. Get your group signed up to perform or purchase tickets at the door to enjoy an evening of “M” rated comedy at the Improv Mixer! Participation is open to groups of all experience levels from any theatre who wants to perform.

Friday, July 19

JP Sears continues with a night of shows at Goodnights Comedy Club this Friday night! Grab tickets to see this hilarious comedian and YouTube star take the stage with a night of poking fun at new age culture and the extreme lengths people go to maintain a hippie lifestyle. This Friday at Raleigh Little Theatre is the opening night for drama production Antigone. This reinterpretation of a family drama explores conflict, loss and suffering. Grab tickets to see the classic story sometime this weekend!

Goodnights Upstairs hosts Late Night Dip, a unique bucket-style open mic event this Friday night. You can purchase tickets to this 18 & up show ahead of time for a night of hilarious improv!

Saturday, July 20

It’s the second night of shows for Raleigh Little Theatres production of Antigone. Grab tickets to see the third and final play of the Oedipus trilogy in which strong, powerful female lead, Antigone, fights for ancient moralities and family values.

ComedyWorx hosts both matinee and evening showtimes of their family friendly ComedyWorx show. The Ladies Show gets started at 8pm featuring the talented all-female cast. Be sure to catch one of the shows from their exciting lineup this weekend!
