Dash and Lily fans - this one’s for you! While we don’t recommend leaving your notebook for a mysterious stranger to find this holiday season, Hillsborough Street has several spots that might brighten your Yuletide spirits. Nice Price Books and Records and Reader’s Corner are the perfect spots to find a well-loved book or maybe have a moment that’s holiday- movie worthy!
Maybe a movie isn’t what you’re looking for - no worries! Why not catch a show? We promise it will be just as entertaining (albeit a more traditional kind of entertaining) as the nativity scene in Four Christmases. Cinderella - Prince Street Players version was back at Raleigh Little Theatre, with the performance featuring a Christmas Eve Ball and music by Music Theatre International. You can also see Motown Christmas presented by Pure Life Theatre until December 29th. Your visiting friends and family will love these performances, and seeing the shows is a great way to spend time together!
Speaking of visitors - there are plenty of spots for them to stay in the area! Maybe you need to be Home Alone for the holidays or have too much family to keep track of. Aloft Raleigh and DoubleTree by Hilton are ready to make their stay nothing short of wonderful. No “filthy animals” here!
Finally, while nothing compares to the 25,000 lights on the Griswald family home, our merchants have certainly done an incredible job decorating their stores and restaurants. Be sure to check out the light installations on Hillsborough Street this holiday season- we’ve heard Buddy the Elf and Mr. Grinch + Max are making an appearance!
