Arts Spotlight: West Side Story Symphony Concert

Love live symphony music? Enjoy musicals? Want an updated take on Romeo & Juliet? Raleigh Little Theatre and Raleigh Symphony Orchestra have you covered!

Raleigh Little Theatre presents two performances of the "West Side Story" Symphony Concert, held May 18 at 8pm and May 19 at 3pm inside RLT's Louise "Scottie" Stephenson Amphitheatre. Come out to see a forbidden love story and a ruthless feud between the Sharks and the Jets through the music of the iconic "West Side Story." The performance will feature the Raleigh Symphony Orchestra.

This event is more than just a musical performance - it's set to support culture and equality, both on a local and a global level. The music for "West Side Story" was written by Leonard Bernstein and this event is part of the worldwide celebration #BernsteinAt100, a global highlight of the life and career of the 20th-century cultural giant. The royalties from this event also benefit Equality NC, an organization dedicated to making North Carolina a more equitable and safe place for the LGBTQ community.

Tickets are on sale at $20 for adults and $15 for students/seniors. Food trucks & concessions open an hour before each performance.
