Join Us for Hillsborough Street's Halloween Adventure!

Calling all ghosts, goblins, superheroes, princesses, witches, and little monsters! Gather your family, friends, and neighbors for an afternoon of Halloween fun as Hillsborough Street transforms into a festive destination filled with trick-or-treating, interactive activities, and magical moments for all ages. Whether you're bringing little trick-or-treaters or are simply young at heart, everyone is welcome to join the celebration. Costumes are highly encouraged but not required!

Join us on Sunday, October 18, 2026, from 2:00–5:00 PM to collect treats from 50 candy stations, explore our Trunk-or-Treat Zone, and enjoy a variety of hands-on crafts, games, photo opportunities, and family-friendly entertainment throughout our street. Visit each event area, make fun crafts, and experience interactive games and activities that bring the Halloween spirit to life.

Whether you're showing off your costume, dancing to spooky tunes, creating crafts, or discovering surprises around every corner, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

EVENT MAP

This year our event footprint runs from Horne Street to Logan Ct and into the North Hall Parking Lot. We will have one Check-in table 1 at the corner of Horne Street near Jasmin & Olivz and Check-in table 2 near Logan Court and the North Hall Parking Lot, you can start your event experience at either location. Check-in tables will have a trick or treat bag, event map and activity sheet, and local specials for attendees to enjoy!

PARKING INFO

Free parallel parking is available along Hillsborough Street on weekends. Additional parking can be found in nearby NC State University parking lots, which are typically free on weekends, including:

  • The Ferndell Lot (68 spaces)
    • Address: 47 Ferndell Ln, Raleigh, NC 27607
    • Location Details: Gravel parking lot on NC State University's North Campus, situated off Hillsborough Street between Ferndell Lane and Maiden Lane (near the Oberlin traffic circle and Player's Retreat).
  • Neighboring streets off Hillsborough Street offer free 2-hour parking

If free parking is full, paid parking is available in a portion of the Car Park Lot at 23 Logan Court.

Please note: Logan Court will be closed during the event, so the lot must be accessed via Clark Avenue and Chamberlain Street. The lot’s usual entrance will be blocked, and Chamberlain Street will be the only available access point.

Please drive slowly and be mindful of other drivers when entering and navigating the lot.

SUPPORT THE NCSU COMMUNITY

As part of our partnership with NC State, this year’s Trick or Treat event will expand into the North Hall Parking Lot! We’re excited to support the NC State community by promoting a food drive benefiting the university’s student food pantry.

Attendees are encouraged to bring nonperishable food items and other pantry essentials to the event. Ideas of items to bring: canned/boxed food, hygiene products, pantry staples, pet supplies, baby care, etc.

As a thank-you for giving back, anyone who donates will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a local gift card!

Together, we can make Halloween fun while helping support NC State students and their basic needs.

FAQ

1. Is this event free to attend?
Yes! The event is completely free and open to the public. Some activities or food from local businesses may require purchase, but all event programming is free to enjoy.

2. Do I need to register in advance?
No, tickets are not required to attend this event however they do help us gauge interest and attendance.

3. Where should I check in?
When you arrive make sure to stop by one of our check-in tables to grab your goodie bag and event map (while supplies last). Check-in table 1 will be near the corner of Horne Street near Jasmin & Olivz and Check-in table 2 will be near Logan Court and the North Hall Parking Lot, you can start your event experience at either location.

4. What’s the best place to park?
Free parallel parking is available on Hillsborough Street and on nearby side streets, however these usually have a 2-hour limit. NC State University's Ferndell Lot (47 Ferndell Ln, Raleigh, NC 27607) is free on weekends. If those fill up, there’s paid parking in part of the Car Park Lot (23 Logan Ct).

5. What should I bring?
Bring comfortable shoes for walking, and your Halloween spirit! Costumes are encouraged but not required.

6. Is this event family-friendly?
Absolutely! The event is designed for kids, families, and anyone young at heart.

7. Will there be candy or treats for everyone?
Yes—there will be plenty of candy stations along the route and a Trunk or Treat area, but other goodies are available while supplies last, so it’s best to arrive early.

8. What activities can I expect?

We’re bringing back some of your favorites and adding even more fun to explore! Here’s what you can look forward to throughout the event:

  • Hillsborough Street: Candy Station Trail
  • The Car Park Lot: Trunk-or-Treat and inflatable games by Big Air Raleigh
  • Compiegne Park: DJ-led games and dance parties, plus two special kids’ yoga sessions led by Little Pine Yoga
  • Logan Court: Pumpkin patch vibes, a caricature artist, a sensory-friendly space, activities, and additional crafts
  • The North Hall Lot: Inflatables, Andy’s Frozen Custard, community partners, Fany’s Face Painting, and more! Be sure to explore this newest addition to our event footprint.

9. Are pets allowed?
Friendly, leashed pets are welcome—just keep in mind that there will be crowds and children present. 

10. What happens if it rains?
The event is rain or shine unless severe weather creates unsafe conditions then our backup event location will be the West Raleigh Presbyterian Church (27 Horne St, Raleigh, NC 27607). Updates will be shared on our social media channels, our website, and through the Eventbrite messaging system.

11. Is there food or drink available?
Many nearby Hillsborough Street restaurants and cafes will be open during the event—stop in to grab a bite or warm drink between activities. Be on the look out for out specials info sheet when you check in!

12. Who can I contact if I have questions during the event?
Event staff wearing lanyards will be available throughout the event area and are your first point of contact for questions. If you’re unable to locate a staff member, please ask a volunteer, who can try to connect you with the event manager if needed.
