As the semester comes to an end and work starts to slow down spend some time exploring what Hillsborough Street has to offer! There’s something for everyone with theatre, comedy, food and craft events going on throughout the month that make the perfect place to catch up with friends and family. 

 

And remember, you can always make your own adventures on Hillsborough Street – grab a cup of coffee, take a bike ride, sit down to a great meal or pick up the perfect gift for a loved one! We'll update the bottom of this page with special holiday hours as we learn them.

 

 

Holiday Creations

JC Raulston Arboretum

December 14th from 10am-12pm

 

Head to the arboretum for a morning of crafting with materials from the garden. This class is open to all ages and parents are asked to stay with children while they craft. Register onlineto spend the morning crafting for the holidays!

 

 

Duke Energy Winter Family Fun Friday: Flower Power

North Carolina Museum of Art

December 14th at 5pm

 

Listen to music, make crafts and play games for a day of family fun to help get in the holiday spirit! This winter celebration will be 60s themed, so be ready for a groovy time. There’s also a chance for a visit with Santa, so don’t miss out! Tickets are free, but be sure to reserve your spot

 

 

“Cinderella”

Raleigh Little Theatre

Running until December 16th

 

Cinderella is a classic holiday show at Raleigh Little Theatre currently in its 35th annual production. This show has a mixture of comedy and romance that will lead to a truly captivating performance the whole family will enjoy.

“The Gift of the Magi”

Sonorous Road Theatre

Running until December 17th

 

Sonorous Road is presenting an adaptation of O. Henry's “The Gift of the Magi” as an immersive experience for the audience. The experience will be set in New York during the 1920s and tells the familiar story of Jim and Della, a young couple searching for each other’s perfect Christmas gifts. There will be live speakeasy music and scenes that will take place throughout the building.

“The Santaland Diaries”

Theatre in the Park

Running until December 23rd

 

This one man show relives an out-of-work, young actor’s brief stint as an elf in Macy’s department store during the holiday season. Based on David Sedaris’ short story, Santaland is filled with highly charged, politically incorrect, irreverent commentaries of fellow elves, Santa’s true colors, and the raucous adults and children who come to visit St Nick each year. Come laugh, drink and be merry as you join us for this adult’s only holiday treat that is sure to make your spirits bright!

Murder Mystery Party

Do you love dressing up, acting or the idea of solving crimes? Then this New Year’s Eve there is an event for you! The Aloft is hosting “Murder at the Masquerade 6: A New Years Eve Murder Mystery Party.” Get ready to dress up and play a real life game of Clue! Everyone who attends will play a small role and will receive a “character bio” and how you relate to the suspect. Also, you’ll get to help investigate the crime. New Years Eve With Andy Woodhull

Goodnights Comedy Club

What better way to start the New Year than with an evening filled with laughter? Goodnights has the perfect event for those looking to sit back, relax, eat and enjoy a show. Andy Woodhull will help ring in the New Year. He’s a well-known comedian that has performed his stand-up on Conan and The Tonight Show. Make sure to reserve your spot for this great event!
