Details

The workshop begins with an engaging indoor session where Bryce breaks down the science and strategy behind successful pruning. You’ll learn the key principles of why, when, and how to prune, explore the tools and techniques that make the job efficient and effective, and gain a clear understanding of how proper pruning promotes plant health, structure, and performance. Bryce’s clear explanations and real-world examples will give you the knowledge and confidence to prune with purpose.

Hands-On Experience:
After the classroom session, we’ll move outside into the garden for a live demonstration and guided practice. Bryce will demonstrate proper pruning cuts, show how to shape and rejuvenate a variety of plants, and explain the reasoning behind each technique. Then, participants will have the opportunity to put their new knowledge into practice, pruning under Bryce’s supervision and with support from JCRA staff.

We’ll take a short lunch break around noon—participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch, which may be enjoyed in the classroom before we resume the afternoon session.
