Live & Local: Roots Fest is a free community event on Hillsborough Street celebrating the roots of North Carolina music and art with two stages, local artists, and local beer.
This free Hillsborough Street festival will take place 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 23. Hillsborough Street will be closed for the event between Enterprise Street and Pogue Street. The event will highlight the 'roots of North Carolina arts and music.'
Ike Stubblefield, who has performed and recorded with the likes of Eric Clapton, Quincy Jones, and Al Green will headline the main stage. Featured performers range from a large Caribbean dance orchestra to the African American Dance Ensemble and Greg Humphreys Electric Trio.
The robust kids zone will include free crafts, bouncy houses, and a special performances by Mr. Erik Rock n' Roll Storyteller and an engaging percussion workshop led by One Tribe.
The street will be filled with artists, games, food, and excitement between two stages. We look forward to seeing you in September.
