Tasty Tuesday: Global Village

Kate Gray

Global Village, known for its “Coffee House” awning out front, is an organic coffee and tea house right across from NC State’s main campus. They serve homemade pastries and paninis offering both vegan and gluten-free options and have been around our community for over 20 years. The perfect place to stop by between classes to get away from campus get a quick pick me up and get some work done! Currently offering student discounts if you show your student ID at the counter, it is the perfect place for students to stop by.

I love all the coffee shops on Hillsborough Street because they all house a different vibe; Global Village has an open and friendly vibe perfect for small meetings, catching up with friends and not having to worry about being too quiet. They also have fun outdoor seating that is perfect for all the nice fall weather we have been having the last couple of weeks!

I recommend grabbing your friends on a Sunday morning, ordering your favorite tea or coffee, a delicious panini, and getting prepared for the week ahead of you. If you need a little more quiet you can head to the back corner, or even grab some food and drinks to go and walk across the street to the library.

I am a big fan of the homemade refreshers they have, the hibiscus being my favorite! The immune booster teas are also the perfect thing to help boost your energy after a long weekend of football and other activities. Stop by Global Village soon, to experience it for yourself!
