The Louise S. Stephenson Amphitheatre at the Raleigh Rose Garden is a 2,000 seat venue situated in the University Park neighborhood at the corner of Pogue Street and Clark Avenue and only a few blocks from Hillsborough Street.
Funding for the historic amphitheatre was part of the original Work Progress Administration grant that built the Raleigh Little Theatre.
The venue is named for the longtime corporate secretary for Capitol Broadcasting who was an ardent volunteer and supporter of the arts in Raleigh, including the Raleigh Fine Arts Society and the North Carolina Symphony.
