Tasty Tuesday: Jasmin & Olivz Mediterranean

Katie Gray

Craving some Greek and Lebanese cuisine? Make a stop at Jasmin & Olivz Mediterranean! They boast two convenient locations on Hillsborough Street, one directly across from NC State's Campus, and the other situated across from the main entrance of Meredith College. The menu offers a wide array of choices, including paninis, flatbreads, platters, and salads. Their claim to be a fast-casual, healthy, and fresh Mediterranean restaurant is undoubtedly accurate. For over a decade, they've been a go-to spot for busy students seeking a quick and satisfying meal between classes, having first opened across from NC State in 2005. Jasmin places great emphasis on utilizing locally-sourced produce to create their robust and delectable flavors. They cater to a diverse clientele by providing a range of affordable options and accommodating various dietary preferences, including Vegan, Vegetarian, Gluten-Free, and Halal choices.

One of my personal favorites is the Chicken Zaki, prepared with Jasmin chicken, sun-dried tomatoes, feta, mozzarella, and pesto sauce. I also have a soft spot for the Chicken Shawarma Panini, featuring Jasmin chicken, fresh tomatoes, tahini, and garlic sauce, with the added goodness of mozzarella cheese. They also offer catering services, making them a fantastic choice for all types of gatherings.

With their closing hours extending until 9 or 10 PM, depending on the day, I find it convenient to swing by on my way to the library for a quick dinner or lunch before diving into my study session. Jasmin & Olivz provides a variety of side options, and if you're not ravenous, you can also order your food a la carte. Personally, I highly recommend trying the fries with the zaki sauce! Periodically, they offer student specials, like the $1 Chicken Zaki deal for students, which they featured last month.

I encourage you to drop by for lunch one day this week and experience their delicious offerings for yourself!
