Jeff joined NC State University in May of 2016 as Associate Vice Chancellor for Real Estate & Development, where he is responsible for overseeing Centennial Campus, the Biomedical Campus and 120,000+ acres of University-controlled real estate.
Prior to joining NC State, Jeff practiced commercial real estate and land use law at Parker Poe in Raleigh for 18 years. His practice included representing public and private clients in public/private partnerships and compliance with local, state and federal regulations applicable to land development and infrastructure projects. He has specialized knowledge in transit-oriented development, public lands, property owners’ association regimes and railroad property issues.
He obtained his undergraduate degree, law degree and a Masters in City and Regional Planning from UNC Chapel Hill. He is active in the Triangle District Council of the Urban Land Institute and was previously a member of ULI’s national Transit Oriented Development Product Council. He has served as Vice-Chair of the Raleigh Transit Authority and Chair of the Endeavor Charter School Foundation and is a member of the American Public Transportation Association and the International Right of Way Association.
