Richard D. Berlin III is the associate vice chancellor for NC State’s Campus Enterprises.
In this role, he leads the university’s division for retail and hospitality, which includes dining, catering, bookstore, trademark licensing, student centers, golf course and ID card office.
Berlin is a key leader and visionary on numerous campus wide initiatives to promote the chancellor’s vision of student success and organizational excellence. He will play critical roles in developing the student housing master plan study and future growth of Centennial Campus.
Berlin most recently served as director of business services at the University of the South, providing strategic, fiscal and operational leadership to the university’s auxiliary departments, which included dining, catering, bookstore, hotel, golf course, student post office, conference services and an airport. He also led the university’s purchasing department.
Berlin has also served at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cornell University and Duke University. He is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and holds a B.S. in finance from the University of Connecticut.
