Live It Up! Hillsborough Street Brings $4 Food Walk to Life this Summer

RALEIGH, NC - Live It Up! Hillsborough Street is bringing a $4 Food Walk to the Hillsborough Street District over five Wednesdays this summer, beginning June 8.

$4 Food Walk

Participating restaurants and bars will have $4 small plates available for purchase to introduce locals to the diverse and delicious offerings by Hillsborough Street businesses between I-440 and Morgan Street.

“Our goal is to see local residents enjoying both familiar and new businesses along Hillsborough Street during the summer months,” Shannon Johnson, Director of Economic Development, said. “When the students are gone, our merchants see a dropoff of business and we want to do our part to both bridge that gap and encourage residents to visit us all year long.”

To encourage guests to stroll the district, performance artists will be stationed at select outdoor locations to provide entertainment. Guests can also participate in a virtual Scavenger Hunt, which will have $1000s worth of prizes to spend at participating district businesses.

“This is a family-friendly and a budget-friendly event for local Raleighites of all ages,” Devon Howard, Director of Engagement added. “Hopefully this will be an opportunity for our community to enjoy great food, great music and great company in a relaxed atmosphere this summer and for many more summers to come.”

The $4 Food Walk will take place every other Wednesday this summer between June 8 and August 3 all day. For the first night (June 8), 16 restaurants are slated to participate with $4 food small plates and 10 different performers/performance groups will be out entertaining visitors.
